Aerobic Exercise - Shaping Up For A Healthy Future
Lack of aerobic exercise can have its toll upon us if we start to exert our body all of a sudden. This I knew since long but experienced only recently. My friend and I had been planning for a hiking trip up the hills about 200 kilometers from my city. We had been having a hard time at the office and deserved a break. So a hike up the hills was our idea of having fun and be as close to nature as possible. We were planning to camp there as well for a few days. So we bought some supplies, shopped for some sturdy shoes and geared up for our trip ahead.
The day of our departure arrived. Kissing our wives farewell, we set out to the town near the hills by bus. The day was sunny and fine. We started our trek. After an hour or so I started huffing and puffing. My friend too was finding it a tough going. We decided to stop awhile for a breathe. It has been quite some time since we exercised. We had been so engrossed in our work that we had very little or rather no time for exercise. Now we were finding it more difficult than we thought before. So we decided to take it easy and camp up a little further and no more. We trudged for some more time and then pitched our tents. It was late evening when all was settled. Exhausted, we sat down talking and decided that there was no point trekking long hours when our body was up to it. The rest of the trip was less tiring as we reduced the distance and decided to return home earlier than we planned. Without aerobic exercises, we were finding our sojourn less enjoyable. Soon we returned home wiser if not more trimmer.
