Alcoholics Anonymous – Attend The Program To Stop Drinking Altogether

Alcoholics Anonymous proved to be a great program for my old uncle. He needed help. His wife had just died. He had no children. So I invited him to stay with me and my wife. I had always been fond of him since my childhood. He taught me fishing during one summer vacation, sailing during another. I always enjoyed his company. One thing about him disturbed me, though. He drank heavily. When he settled down in my house, I suggested that he attend Alcoholics Anonymous 12 step meeting. Initially he was reluctant. Later he agreed. He had his first heart attack few months ago. And it was high time he reformed himself. So he started attending Alcoholics Anonymous 12 step meeting.

A few months into the program, he was convinced that the best thing he had done recently was to quit alcohol. Even during last Christmas party, he refused to drink even a single glass of wine. The support group in the program must have brainwashed him completely. Thanks to the Alcoholics Anonymous program, my uncle is a changed man.
