Treatment for osteoarthritis is a combination of exercise, weight and stress management, hot and cold treatments and medication. Every situation is different. What works for some may not work for others even if the disease is in the same joint. It is a matter of trial and error to see what is most effective for you.

Any osteoarthritis treatment plan is patient specific. What works for one person may not work for another even if the same joint is affected. Treatment needs to be a combination of weight control, medication (either prescription, over the counter or natural), hot and cold treatments and stress management. It is a matter of trial and error to see what is most effective for you particular situation.

Upper back pain can be also related to the cervicothoracic junction. This area tends to be the hinge point between the mobile cervical and immobile thoracic.

My name is Kathy and I am the full time caregiver for my eighty one year-old Dad who has Alzheimer's and lives with me in North Carolina.

When my Mom died in 2004 and Dad moved in with me, I had no idea what to do. But day by day, I found ways to cope, and even enjoy having my Dad with me.

So I started writing a blog at www.KnowItAlz.com, which shows the "lighter" side of caring for someone with dementia.

After a while, I added over 100 pages of helpful information and tips for caregivers. We even have a Chat room so caregivers can communicate with each other from home. Art and music are a very large part of my Dad's therapy.

Please pass this link along to anyone you feel would enjoy it.

Thanks!

Hi leone,

You are absolutely wright. Haldol is only given to hallucinations for people with Alzheimer disease (when the have hallucinations). With lewy Body Haldol has indeed the opposite effect on the hallucinations and delusions. They will get worse instead of better. I changed the way how I wrote it in the article, thank you.

My husband has Lewy Body Disease. The Lewy Body association does not approve the use of Haldol for LBD. Haldol, Ativan, and Risperdol are not appropriate for LBD. My husband takes Seroquel and Sinemet only.
