If you are looking to build some muscle, chances are you’ve picked up the latest magazine or bodybuilding book from the library trying to pick up some tips. Maybe you have gone over several routines trying to figure out the best workout program for yourself. As you go over more and more articles you soon become discouraged due to the fact that there seems to be endless different workout programs and they are sometimes very complex. The good news is that your routine does not have to be complicated.
So many people get discouraged when they first get started trying to design their bodybuilding workouts. Seeing that almost no two people workout the same leaves one confused and disillusioned. Let’s get one thing out of the way, the reason no two people have the same workout routine is because there is no such thing as the right program to follow. The fact is, every single person follows a program that works well for them based on hundreds of different factors that change over time.
This is good news. Although it may sound discouraging to find out that most of the routines you read about won’t work for you, this is good news because it means you are free to design your own program that works specifically for you. This may sound difficult but it certainly doesn’t have to be.
Designing your own program is actually quite simple in the beginning because it is easy for you to challenge your muscles. In the beginning you will spend less time in the gym and your workouts can be quite simple. As time goes on your workouts will get longer and more challenging which will require you to adapt by changing your program. By this time you will be familiar with the exercises you like and which ones work best for you allowing you to create ever more complex routines which is what every single bodybuilder does.
So forget about Mr. Olympia’s favorite exercises, do what works for you. Start with the basics and create a program for yourself. If at some point you take it to the next level of extreme bodybuilding, at that point you can hire a trainer that can help design ever more complex routines that work for you.
