Even though most cheap treadmills are cheap because people never found the time to use them, they can still be pretty degraded. If you happen to find cheap treadmills for sale that have seen tons of use the motor might be running slow and the belt might be worn down.
The problem with buying used electric treadmills is that depending on the amount of use they have been put through they could range drastically in quality. There are two main reasons someone would give up a treadmill: either they never used it and will never use it or they used it so much that they broke it. If you find a cheap treadmill that’s been worn down and abused you might be wasting your money by purchasing it.
Whenever I’m looking to buy used machinery, no matter what kind of may be, I always go online first. Fitness equipment is especially cheap on the internet. Sites like Ebay, Craigslist, and Amazon have tons of advertisements posted by people who are giving up on their goal to lose weight. You could go to craigslist right now and probably find about twenty headlines all exclaiming “cheap treadmill for sale.”
Generally what I will do is go to a main treadmill retailer and see what an average brand new treadmill will cost me. Once I have that base price, I start perusing the new and used treadmill listings on Amazon. Then I’ll check out the world wide garage sale that is Ebay. If I don’t like any of the really cheap bids I’ll head over to Craigslist to look for some cheap treadmills there. Between the three sites, I should manage to get a treadmill at a price and condition that I like.
