The seven major chakras or energy centers of the body each correspond with certain mental, emotional and physical traits, and each one corresponds with a certain color. Chakra stones are simply gemstones in those colors that can be used to help clear and balance each chakra. A quick rundown of the chakras and their colors follows:
Root or base chakra: Base of the spine, corresponds with red or black stones like obsidian and garnet.
Sacral chakra: Middle of abdomen, corresponds with orange or blue-green and stones like carnelian or turquoise.
Solar plexus chakra: Just below the breastbone, corresponds with yellow and stones like citrine.
Heart chakra: Center of the chest, corresponds with green and pink, and stones like tourmaline and jade.
Throat chakra: Base of the throat, corresponds with blue and stones like blue turquoise.
Third eye chakra: Middle of the forehead, corresponds with indigo and stones like azurite.
Crown chakra: Top of the head, corresponds with violet or gold-white and stones like amethyst or white topaz.
Choosing those stones for problems that are controlled by and related to the corresponding chakra can help foster healing and well-being. For instance, someone who has a hard time thinking and remembering, figuring out a problem, or who has headaches, may have a blocked crown chakra. This is located at the top of the head and associated with violet and gold-white.
Choosing the right chakra stone can help clear and balance this chakra. Stones in violet or gold-white like amethyst and white topaz will have similar vibrations to this spot of energy and can help the energy flow better.
Even while shifting the assemblage point, some other colors besides clear quartz crystal are used, depending on the problem that’s faced and what the person’s particular needs are at the time. Someone with an ongoing problem might choose to carry a certain stone or wear it in jewelry for relief, too.
