Choosing the Right Acne Treatment for you

Choosing the best acne treatment is a very difficult task. There are many different types of acne and not all treatments are suited for each type. This is because specialized treatments work to isolate specific symptoms with varying degrees of harshness.

A known effective acne treatment is using benzoyl peroxide.  This is the active ingredient behind Clearasil Max and Proactiv. While effective in treating acne, in some individuals the application of benzoyl peroxide on your face will cause irritation.  This product is better to used on thick skin and for treating back acne. because it acts as an as antibacterial and promotes the peeling of the dead surface of the skin cells.

Treatments using an antibiotic is also an effective method if it is paired with benzoyl peroxide or retinol. On the other hand, those topical treatments will last only for six months. Most oral contraceptives work for women with acne since it has a combination of testosterone suppressant, cyproterone acetate and hormone ethinylestradiol.

As can be seen, a common problem with acne is the treatment itself. Many people think that the treatment that works for one person will also be effective with another person. This perception can be damaging and only highlights the fact that there are no quick fixes when it comes to acne.  Research is the best asset one can have when it comes to treatment.

Each person should find an acne solution that is suited to their condition.  Commercial antibacterial treatment will have a good result in controlling the condition and may be the most effective means to combating acne for those individuals that it they are properly suited for.   There is no silver bullet when it come to acne treatment because each treatments works differently.

If the treatments you applied is not working, then consult a physician so that they can prescribe a right treatment that suite your condition. Remember that the best and effective acne treatment is the one that works for your own condition.  Only then can you become acne free!
