I would like to say that I have no problems with staying active and healthy, but then I would be lying. My weight has always been a problem for me and it has a direct link to my eating habits and patterns of a sedentary lifestyle. Don’t get me wrong, I can eat healthy and be extremely active when I am motivated but my main problem is finding the energy to stay the in a state of dedication. In other words, I usually start off really strong when I want to lose some weight and then I eventually wane in determination and go back to normal. It wasn’t until I really made some effort to adapt a fat loss and exercise diet that work for me that I saw some good results.
I used to think that there was a universal approach for eating and exercising that would work for everyone. While there is basic science behind how to lose weight, applying various methods will be a matter of personal choice. For me I had to find a way to eat as often as I’d like because I’m a big snacker. I also don’t have a lot of time to cook so I’m on a constant search for handy foods that I can carry around with me. I’ve been able to adapt recipes that incorporate more fruits and vegetables, and sometimes I will eat these elements raw as well. I have also found great value in adapting my fat loss diet to include large batches of soups that I can cook at one time and freeze for later use.
I knew from the beginning that I hated jogging so I looked for an alternative type of exercise. It turns out that my activity is related to cycling so I bought myself a home exercise bike. I find that having home exercise equipment allows me the luxury of being able to work out at anytime I want, and this fits into my lifestyle perfectly. Remember you don’t have to buy the most expensive pieces of exercise equipment out there if you can get a more efficient workout from a cheaper model. The main thing I hope you learn from my story is that you need to keep on trying if you aren’t experiencing weight loss results at first. It takes time to come up with a plan that is both personalized and effective for your busy schedule.
