Do You Have Tight Hip Flexors?

The hip flexor is a muscle that can cause a lot of problems in the body. You need to know how to deal with it in order to relieve a lot of pain that you will be having. The hip flexor is a muscle deep in the body, and its main function is to flex the hip. It attaches onto the lower spine at the back, and onto the top of the femur, this means that when there is dysfunction, you will have a tendency to get back pain.

Tight hip flexors are very common, and simply to get. Think about how we are most of the day. We are usually sitting down at a desk. In this position, our hip flexors are shortened. This means that they will want to adapt to stay like that. The longer they are in the shortened position, the tighter they will become. Once they become tight, they will start to pull onto your lower back, and pull you into a lordotic position. This will mean that you will be putting pressure on your lower back, and can get various injuries because of it.

it is important to keep your hip flexors loose. You should stretch at regular intervals during the day. Before any workout do a big hip flexor stretch, but be sure to hold it for more than 30 seconds, as it is often the fascia that is tight and this requires extra stretching. You can also do active exercises such as lunges to ensure that you get an active stretch. This will also help to activate your glute muscles, which will mean that you will inhibit your hip flexors and help them to relax.

You can exercise at home without equipment, and  that will help you get rid of your pain immensely and you can see more of the at laurensfitness.com.
