Girl With Messy HairMaking hair grow faster is one of the many things that a lot of us would want to happen. Having longer hair can make us look more attractive and beautiful, especially for most women. In addition to these, longer hair can also give more confidence and better self-esteem. However, making it grow the faster is not an easy thing to do. In fact, hair can grow only at an average rate of half an inch per month. Nevertheless, some people believe that constant brushing can also promote better and faster growth rate of hair. So, does brushing your hair make it grow faster?

If truth be told, brushing is not even connected or linked to the rate of hair growth. In other words, constant brushing does not affect the speed of our hair to grow. Nevertheless, brushing or combing hair with a good hair brush or comb does have benefits for the health of our hair. In combination with massage, combing can help in stimulating the scalp, which is useful in regulating the oil production in our hair. This can also aid in removing dead skin cells, which can clog on the scalp’s pores and block it causing irritation and other skin problems such as pimples. Because of this, combing or brushing must be done before washing or shampooing the hair.

Men's Hair BrushAnother benefit of brushing hair and massaging the scalp is that it helps in improving the circulation in the skin. This can help in regulating the scalp temperature as well as the moisture level of the scalp. This, in turn, can slow down the sweat production and likewise distribute the production of oils evenly in the follicles of the hair shafts. However, if we were to choose which ones is better between brushing and combing, then the answer would be combing since it only arranges the strands into a specific direction as to the effects of the brush, which creates more hair tension due to the multiple directions it makes with the hair in every stroke. However, it is important for us to remember that constant hair brushing can also lead to damaging. Frequent brushing of hair can create damages such as split ends and breakages. It is also important for us not to create too much pressure while brushing since this can cause scalp scratches.

These are just some of the tips that we can use with regards to brushing our hair and making it healthy.
