Does Hair Gel Cause Hair Loss?

All of us would want the best for our hair. Whether it is short, long, curly or straight, taking proper care of our hair is a great way of making it healthy. In addition to this, hair is also considered an important part of our body. Aside from its skin protecting purposes, hair also makes us look more attractive. This is the reason why we always do a lot of hair treatments and apply many hair applications in order to make it look much better. However, adding too much solution or hair products can be potentially harmful for our hair. Some of us are even fond of using hair gels in order to give our hair shape and body. But is it okay for us to use hair gel regularly? Does hair gel cause hair loss?

Nowadays, many hair gels are already available in the market. This is due to the fact that many consumers are now using the benefits of these gels on hair. However, many still question its effects on hair loss. But if truth be told, hair gels actually do not cause or trigger hair loss to occur. In fact hair gel can be used regularly for a long period of time without any expectations for negative side effects. Nevertheless, it is important for us to rinse our hair and scalp after using hair gel to remove any dust or dirt particles.

Although hair gels are not directly linked to hair loss, this hair application can still have an impact on losing hair. As some of us know, hair actually grows in phases. Each strand of hair grows over a period of time until it reaches a two-week resting period before it falls out. Once this hair strand falls, a new hair will replace it. This is the reason why we must always wash our hair every after using hair gels in order to keep the pores clean, clear and open. Wearing too much hair gel without rinsing it can cause pores to clog thus preventing new growth to occur.

However, it is still important for all of us to know that hair loss or baldness is primarily due to genetics. In addition to this lack of care or improper hair treatment can also lead to hair loss. Doing regular hair procedures such as dyeing, perming, rebonding and the likes can actually cause hair to get damaged. Once hair is damaged, it becomes easily breakable making it prone for hair loss. Tying hair in ponytails or pigtails can also lead to hair loss, which is why it is important for us to refrain from tying our hair all the time. These are just some of the things that can trigger hair loss to happen.
