Possessing fats in our body is not a bad idea at all. In fact, these fats serve as a natural protection from cold temperatures. It has also a function to become the body’s emergency energy source. The downside of having too much fat is that they aggregate on certain parts of the body. Aesthetically speaking, it is this reason that people opt for it to be removed. The best method to eradicate excessive fat is to burn it through exercise. But, doing exercise demands time and effort. For those individual who don’t have time to perform such exercises, liposuction would be a good alternative way.

Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, originated in Rome, Italy in 1974. The said procedure entails manual suctioning of fat aggregates. The areas commonly operated are the abdomen, buttocks, legs, arms, chin and elsewhere. Ultrasonic liposuction is one of the most commonly used method of liposuction. High-intensity ultrasonic oscillations are transmitted to the operated fat site thus decimating and emulsifying the fat aggregates. The emulsified fat aggregates are sucked out. One advantage to this kind of liposuction is that it has lower risk of causing trauma to the tissues. Unusual lumps or indents on the skin after liposuction are highly unlikely.

When the operation is done, the ultrasonic liposuction recovery will be taken into consideration. An elastic compression garment should be used in order to reduce the risks of having soggy, lumpy or indented marks. Individuals may return to their respective works as soon as two days after the said procedure was done. But, certain individuals are advised to be confined to a hospital in order to be assessed and monitored for complications. Infection and pain is the most common complaint of patients who underwent liposuction. Hence, postoperative medications must be given and taken scrupulously.

Liposuction is now popular for those people who can afford and want to lose weight fast. But, there is still a need for those who underwent such procedure to maintain a diet program. Additionally, a regular exercise should be done to preserve the result of liposuction.
