People with high blood pressure are encouraged to have low salt diet. Sodium or salt can potentially increase blood pressure by increasing the blood volume in the circulation. An increase in blood volume will also increase the workload of the heart. Hypertensive people should avoid further increasing their blood pressure, so it is a must to limit the sodium intake. People with high blood pressure must comply with this diet and limit consumption of high sodium foods like noodles, pizza, cheese, ham, junk foods, salad dressings, French fries, hotdogs, spaghetti and many more.

Through the usage of anti-hypertensive medications, high blood pressure are managed and controlled. These medications will work well if paired with personal lifestyle changes such as engaging in regular exercise and suitable diet for high blood pressure.
