How to Get Lower Prices on Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is a growing field, with much more to offer than dentures. Dental implants and cosmetic dentistry bonding are just two of the new and exciting fields that are growing. However, cosmetic dentistry is expensive.

Dental implants are more permanent than dentures because the teeth are surgically attached to bone, and it is easily accessible because almost all dentists are certified, or can refer you to a certified dentist. Television commercials advertise a free dental implant often, but the commercials also feature small print and are deceptive. Because dental implants are so expensive, with prices ranging from 1,000 to 5,000, these advertisements are really tempting. However, most of these commercials are scams. It can be hard to get any real information, and once you do, there is usually some kind of restriction. The main ploy is to offer the actual implants for free, but then the patient is still responsible for the dentists time, the materials and other added on fees. Although the dentist can be legitimate, often they are padding their wallets.

Another dental procedure is cosmetic dentistry bonding. The composite resin used is similar to modeling clay. It is often used for repairing chips and minor flaws, although they have functional applications too, like fillings for cavities. The advantage of using bonding for fillings is that they are color matched to the other surrounding teeth and they do not expand and contract like the traditional amalgam fillings do. The prices for cosmetic dentistry bonding average 300 650 each tooth and will last seven to twelve years.

It is worth the time spent researching dentists online in the local area to find specials and free cosmetic dental work. From spending a little time, potentially thousands of dollars can be saved. Other places to look for low prices include dental schools, and some people are eligible for special discounts based on income through the American Dental Association.
