Meditation for Healing: How to heal your Body?

Meditation is a behavioral and physiological way to get control on your body. It has a positive influence on your body and that is why meditation is used for healing. The main effect of meditation for healing purposes is helping your body to relax. In this way, the things that cause stress and tension in your body are removed. Because of this healing effects of meditation, there has been a lot of research about this subject. Some research shows that the effects of meditation can help reduce the symptoms of various disorders.

Meditation has some direct effects on breathing and heart rate. Because you are concentrating on your breathing, the heart will slow down a bit. You need to take deep breaths through your nose and hold this for a few seconds. Than very slowly exhale through your mouth. When you inhale slow and very deep, you will provide oxygen to every part of the lungs.

meditation helps you concentrating on the way your breath and research has shown that this has positive effects on your heart. This method works best when you have your eyes closed. When you have your eyes closed you are more able to concentrate on your breathing. This method is known as transcendental meditation.

Meditation for healing has more beneficial effects on your body. Because your heart rate slows down, the blood flow will increase pumping blood to every part of your body at a steady pace. The relaxing effect of meditation makes you able to mentally clear your mind. This often helps you understand facets of life better.

It is clear that research has proven that a steady blood flow helps you keeping a healthy body. It even seems that it can help you with disorders like hypertension/ high blood pressure. Hypertension is related to stress and meditation helps you relax and this will reduce the stress and so lowers your blood pressure.

One research project had an experiment where people were subjected to meditation instead of medication. The effect was that the people who were practicing meditation on a daily base could discontinue their medication. The relaxation method worked so good that they did not need the medication to lower their blood pressure.

We life in a stressful world and sometimes it is not easy to keep up with the speed of our life’s. Meditation helps you concentrating and relaxing, it makes the mind clear and helps you focus on what is important. If you practice meditation for healing on a daily base than it has proven to have some positive effects on the health of your body.
