Meth and LSD addiction

Meth addiction is a devastating condition that can lead to crime, poverty, and ultimately death. People who become addicted to meth find that the highest priority in their life is to maintain the euphoria that is obtained by the use of the drug. Meth is a highly addictive drug longing to the methamphetamine family of drugs whose main mechanism of action is to stimulate the nervous system. Once smoked or ingested methamphetamines can pass through the blood brain barrier relatively quickly, due to the lipid compounds that are found in the drug, which is also what makes it so addictive it has the attribute of giving the user an immediate high.

Crystal meth is the drug that is usually associated with meth addiction these days, years ago it was various forms of speed. Once addicted to meth there is no easy way to simply stop using the drug because the withdrawal symptoms are so great the addict is compelled to feed the body with this drug at all costs.

Having an addiction to LSD is not as powerful an addiction as a meth addiction. However, the LSD addict may also suffer devastating consequences as a result of his or her addiction. LSD is a powerful hallucinogenic which acts as a serotonin suppressant, leaving the user of the drug in an almost dreamlike state. Serotonin levels decrease as we enter deep sleep, this may explain the dream like hallucinations one may have while on the drug. Though hard to become addicted to LSD it can still be addictive, so it is important to look for signs of a possible addiction and stop taking the drug once these signs are realized.

Having a meth addiction or an addiction to LSD can have wide spread damage on all aspects of a persons life. It is important to realize that the drug is taking control of you. Getting the necessary help needed to get off these drugs is paramount to living a better life.
