There are quite a few types of electric mobility products and these come in various sizes and designs. They are meant to transport people with a fair level of comfort in mind. Some of the widely used mobility products are recliners as well as lift chairs, powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters that are motorized. These are machines that could be in the form of scooters, reclining chairs or perhaps powered wheelchairs and are suited for those who need assistance in getting around. In some of these wheelchairs, there is battery backup so that power outages do not come in the way of use of the machines. Electric wheelchairs are also much easier to install, use and inexpensive as compared to hydraulic models.

Electric Mobility Products

There are some electric vehicles known as Powerchairs that have a joystick to steer and are powered by batteries. These are suitable only for those who have good visual sight and motor coordination. Batteries typically come with a warranty of two years and have a power consumption of around 25 watts or so.

There are some wheelchairs that are suitable for athletes for a host of athletic events. There are many events like interactive adaptive sports, canine assistance demos, kid-focused activities, dance performances, and instruction as well as artist market which display the work of local artists who have disabilities.

Another main category of mobility problems has to do with bathing. Of this, a lot of elderly people need proper bathing options. Using a bench to get in and out of the tub is not suitable as it can lead to a lack of balance and a fall. There are baths with handsets that are able to lower and raise the subsidiary into the tub. Lots of old folks face problems in bathing due to less strength in their arms, legs or due to disabilities.

If bath railings cannot be used, motorized lifts may help in allowing folks to enjoy a hot bubble bath that they had missed for long. Also known as auto bath lifts, these provide an easy, safe and comfortable solution for bathing. The motorized seat allows sitting down comfortably at the level of tubs side. The seat then lowers you to the floor of the tub, allowing you to fully submerge into a relaxing bath.
