My moles are fine, I don’t need mole removal!

Are you sure of that?  How did you come to that conclusion?  Do you know that a mole can turn into skin cancer, in fact a very dangerous skin cancer called melanoma?  Do yourself a favor and take the time to read this and really find out if you don’t need a mole removal procedure.

Be honest with yourself, do you even know what you need to check to determine if your moles have the potential to become melanoma?  Don’t feel bad if you don’t, because the average person has no clue.  I’m going to show you the ABCD rules of melanoma detection so there will no longer be doubt in your mind.

Asymmetry

The first warning sign is if you mole is growing in a completely random shape.  A healthy mole will have two halves that exactly match each other.  If your mole has grown all out of shape you’ve got some concerns.  You’ll want to start discussing mole removal cost with your doctor.

Border clarity

The second thing to look out for is if your mole has a weakly defined border.  A good mole will have a very clearly defined border.  If your moles edges are hard to define then call your doctor and ask him if he does mole removal surgery.

Colour coordination

You were probably taught about colour coordinating your clothes when you grew up as a kid?  Well it’s the same with moles, the third thing to look out for is a mole which is a combination of different colour.  This is bad, ideally you want your mole to be one complete colour.  It doesn’t matter what colour it is so long as it is the same colour, if not call your doctor and don’t forget to ask him about the potential of getting a mole removal scar.

Diameter

The fourth warning sign is an over sized mole, anything over 6mm is bad and it’s also bad if you have a mole that is constantly changing size or continually growing.  The doctor should be on your speed dial by now call him and tell him you want to discuss removing moles.

Summary

If I’ve scared you then good.  Melanoma can be deadly if not detected early so make sure you get all the mole removal answers you need from your doctor to put your mind at rest.
