As we grow older, most of us start putting up weight. The weight that is gained starts accumulating on certain area of our body where it becomes noticeable. Generally, the area between the neck and the face is piled up with this additional fat. The lower part of the chin and beneath the jowl starts filling out and hence the person looks a little bulkier than usual. Neck liposuction is the treatment by which this unnecessary clutter of flesh can be removed so that the person feels rejuvenated again with a slim and younger look of the neck.
There is a particular procedure that is followed when neck liposuction is done on a patient. The surgeon initially marks the areas of the neck where there is accumulation of extra fat and needs to be removed. Proper levels are necessary to be maintained and hence you will be given IV line to meet the need. The flesh is removed by making an incision under the chin or on the back side of earlobe. A tube like equipment that is called as Cannula is inserted from the opening of the incision and it thus breaks the fatty tissues so that the neck is back to the shape desired by the patient. There is a suction device that sucks the unwanted fatty tissues from that area of the neck.
However, there are always some risks involved in the procedure. For people who are healthier there is no risk to undergo the treatment but for those having some health issues, liposuction can be hazardous if done on multiple sites at the same time. This is because in these cases the patient needs to be given some dose of anesthesia, which later causes side effects. You would be under supervision in the hospital after having undergone multiple liposuctions for at least a night, which is not the case with the majority of other patients.
When the operation is done, the patient is fitted with a band around the operated area to keep the skin of the neck tight in place to allow it to adjust to the fresh shape. It takes almost around two to three weeks for completely recovering from liposuction and during this time the patient may even have some swelling or bruising. Stitches are generally removed after at least 7 days and the improvement can be noticed in a month. For complete results of the surgery the patient may have to wait for several months.
Cosmetic surgery prices have come down a lot recently and neck liposuction is no different. Most patients are able to get the procedure done for under $3,000.
