Protein Bars for Dummies

Looking for information about protein bars? You have come to the right place. Are they of any good? This is a very common question that especially mothers have these days. Well, these protein bars are the choice for most bodybuilders and athletes. They act as an excellent protein supplement in between meals and anyone can have them.

Don’t get confused between a protein bar and an energy bar because, they are not the same, at least not every time.
Energy bars are normally stacked with carbohydrates to provide an energy burst to your body. Whereas, protein bars are opposite to energy bars. These bars have very little carbohydrates and calories and contain as much protein as possible. They are also considered to be a safe way of providing protein to our body.

Generally there is about 15-20 grams of protein in these bars with very few calories, which normally wouldn’t be more than 200 calories. For individuals who are on a high protein diet, they can easily consider adding these protein rich bars to their diet to fulfill their quota of daily protein intake.

This is also the reason why, sportsmen and people who go to gym regularly choose these bars as they are a great protein add-on to their regular diet.

The manufacturers may add some extra ingredients like resins and berries, in order to make these bars suit your taste buds, because of which they not only taste nicer but also provide your body with vitamin C.

And yes, they are very handy, so you can take them wherever you like just by slipping them in your pocket or handbag. All you have to do is tear off the wrapper and munch on them whenever or wherever you are hungry.

So to conclude, of course these protein bars can act as an excellent supplier of protein to your body; but remember they are just supplements and your main protein source must always be your balanced diet.
