The Best Shoes for Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a condition that causes irritation in the ligament that runs along the bottoms of the feet and attaches itself to the heel. The condition can be uncomfortable and painful, but fortunately there are specific shoes for plantar fasciitis that can help to relieve the discomfort.

The condition can be caused by walking in a way that puts a lot of stress on your heel bones and the soft tissues that are attached to the bone. People who have walking gait or other conditions can suffer from plantar fasciitis. Other causes are injuries or bruising that has occurred during running or walking, or even if you have jumped on a hard surface.

Poor quality shoes or incorrect shoes for your type of feet can also lead to this uncomfortable condition and so can obesity. Usually the discomfort is worse when you wake up in the morning and when you have been resting for a while. It can affect the front of the foot (the arch of the foot), the back of the foot and the heel area. Most common symptoms are pain in the bottom part of your heel, pain that gets worse in the mornings and pain that gets worse over time.

Many people who suffer from plantar feet have found it helpful to get specific inserts for their shoes. These inserts, or orthoses, are often prescribed by podiatrists. However, you can also prevent or alleviate the condition by wearing shoes that support the arch of the foot and that place the heel into a raised position. This relieves any strain on the parts of the feet that suffer most.

There are several quality brands of shoes made specifically to alleviate the discomfort and to support the feet in a correct position. If you are suffering from plantar feet, make sure you invest in a pair of shoes that feel comfortable and supportive.
