Earthing is a term which simply refers to the practice of having your bare skin touch the Earth. Recent research has demonstrated that touching the ground with our skin has health benefits: it grounds us into the Earth by discharging accumulated electrical pollution in our bodies and it resets our electrical circuits with those of the Earth. The practice has come about because modern technology, from synthetic shoes and building materials for our houses to all kinds of electronic appliances, is cutting us off from the electrical pulse of the Earth and pollute our bodies with man-made signals.
Earthing Technology?
For earthing to be most beneficial, one has to spend time barefoot (it is the best part of the body to conduct electricity) directly on the Earth for several hours a day. Because this is highly impractical for most people, especially those living in cities, a number of Earthing products have been surfacing on the market. Namely, sheets wired with silver filaments that are to be put on your bed and which are plugged in a grounded electrical outlet, have the same effect as touching the Earth with your skin. The electricity is relayed into the ground through your home’s electrical system. It sounds weird, but it works – and no, it does not send electricity to you, it just allows accumulated electromagnetic residues to be discharged by grounding you into the Earth.
Health Benefits of Earthing
The health benefits of Earthing include better sleep, reduction of stress, an increase in the capacity to heal oneself, more energy and an overall more strong feeling in the body. In order to enjoy these benefits, Earthing has to be practiced with some regularity over time. Remember that our far ancestors used to be connected to the ground consistently as people slept on it and walked about barefoot all the time.
