Humans have often been confronted with the situation of hair loss at a rapid pace. Since this problem has been quite common, people have come up with a number of solutions to tackle it. And one such solution that is quite popular is by using hair plugs for men. This involves the use of surgery to initiate hair growth on bald spots. This treatment essentially involves removing live hair follicles from one part and putting it on a balding spot.

History

First traces of such hair plug surgery can be found in the early 19th century. In the 1930s the Japanese used a technique to replacing hair on eyebrows by inserting a follicular unit of hair grafts. Dermatologist have over the years worked on this follicular unit transplantation method and tried to improve it.

However only in recently years it has gained a lot of popularity. The main reason being that today’s generation is much more conscious about the way they look than those in the past. Hence a lot more people wish to improve their physically features by using such transplantation’s. This hair plug craze is equally popular among men and women, and is often used despite of the pain and costs involved.

However it is important to be completely aware of what you are stepping your foot into, before you decide to go for such a transplant. Hence a discussion with a doctor is highly advisable before you go ahead with a hair plug surgery. You must remember that though this method has tasted a high success rate, it does have certain downsides as well. After the surgery it can take about or more than a month before any signs of improvement is visible. It also might result in a lot of irritation and headaches, especially the first few weeks after the surgery. Hence before jumping in, do consider the negatives and only then make a decisions.
