If you have ever wondered how you can achieve CPR certification the good news is that there are many different ways to study for your exam.
You could go to your local Red Cross center and find out when their next CPR training course starts. The Red Cross and the American Heart Association are the leaders in heart related training. These two organizations spend a lot of time and money researching the most effective ways of not only delivering life saving techniques as well as the training.
If you don’t fancy attending a regular class or simply don’t have the time or resources to do this, you could look into online CPR certification. There are many different programs available. The benefit is the fact that you can proceed at your own pace and study when you have the time. You do need to be careful though as not all online courses are good. Recent studies have suggested that about two thirds of the CPR training videos available online may actually teach the wrong technique. Using a course that has been accredited by the Red Cross or the AHA is the best way forward.
Your employer may also offer CPR training or access to a course. If they don’t you could always ask them to allow the Red Cross to come into the office and train the staff. Employers have a duty of care to their employees and while this may not mean that they have to provide CPR trained staff, giving their personnel access to basic first aid training would be a good idea. After all who is to say that it won’t be the boss who has the cardiac arrest and benefits from these lifesaving skills.
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how you achieve your CPR certification. What is important is that you take basic first aid training so that if an emergency situation occurs you are properly qualified to work through the CPR steps and deal with any casualties involved.
