There are many causes of diabetes which we will look at three. You also have two major types of diabetes, they are classified as type 1 and 2. We want to focus on type 2 diabetes because this is the one you can prevent.

Causes
What happens with diabetes is your system becomes insulin resistant. Your body needs insulin to transport glucose to the cells, when this doesn’t happen you starve the cells of energy and are labeled a diabetic.
So what causes this?
- Genetics – it is estimated that your risk of getting diabetes increase by 25% if it runs in your family.
- Diet – this is no surprise, over time your body just can’t handle the excess processing of foods. This is compounded by the types of foods we consume such as sugars, processed foods, additives and the likes.
- Exercise – this kind of goes hand and hand with age. As our metabolism slows so does our processing machine. The body was design for exercise, this releases toxins and increases circulation. If this doesn’t occur the stress on internal organ increases.
The Problem
If you take a moment, you should be able to figure out why diabetes is on the rise.
It boils down to two things, discipline and lifestyle.
There’s no lack of information about prevention of diabetes, the key is doing what is necessary to help yourself. We just don’t take the time for this until it’s to late. They call this a reactive attitude compared to a proactive action.
This is something only each individual can do for themselves. We build a lifestyle, get into a routine and don’t really realize the damage until it happens.
