You need calories because they are the one’s which fuels your body. If you are not consuming enough of it, you will not have that much needed energy to perform your regular routines. It is actually as simple as this, if you are suffering from a calorie deficit, then you will not gain weight. In order to fight this deficit, you need to take in more calories than what you are currently taking in.

You need to keep track of your calorie intake. As a suggestion, try making a chart and jot down all the things that you eat. This chart should consists of the kinds of food and drink that you consume and the amount of calories, carbohydrates, fats and proteins per serving. Do this for two consecutive weeks, after that you will have an accurate record of the overall calories that you take in per day and the total number of macronutrients (fats, carb, protein) that you are taking in.

To find out how many calories is it that you need to add to your daily meal plan, add your daily calorie intake for the past fourteen days and divide that by fourteen. This will provide you with your daily average consumption. Keep in mind that your aim is to put up weight, so you need to eat more calories than what you are currently having. You would want to add three-hundred to five-hundred calories to this total. This will give you an idea on the amount of calories that you should be consuming per day.
