What Cosmetic Dentistry Bonding can do for You

Tooth bonding is a dentistry method that coats a tooth with a durable substance to make improvements, alterations and reparations to a damaged or discolored tooth as a result of poor oral hygiene and most of the time lack of finances to see a dentist for a maintenance check-up.

Cosmetic dentistry bonding these days is already covered by some insurance companies. Other private institutions and companies also entice their potential employees with dental incentives. It is widely known that cosmetic dental procedures can be very expensive and only few people have the privilege and capacity to avail such comfort.

Cosmetic dental bonding is done by using a substance that matches the color of your teeth. As soon as your dentist has chosen the right color, he will prepare the substance as soon as he can.  More often than not it will be done in just an hour or so if you have only one tooth to be bonded. If you have more to be done, a series of sessions will have to be sufficient.

It is very important to choose a right and trusted cosmetic dentist to do this job for you so that you will have no regrets after the job is done. Ask some of your friends who have done cosmetic dentistry bonding before you for a referral or search the internet for a trusted dental office in your region for a reliable dentist. Take note that a general dentist and cosmetic dentistry dentist are very different.

Its is recommended that you only use bonding for small fractures of your tooth. If you are missing large chunks of teeth you should look into dental implant surgery.

Patients treated with dental bonding are advised not to use cigarettes as it has a porous substance that can make your teeth yellow. Too much coffee, chocolates, biting your nails or hard foods can also damaged your bonded tooth. It is better to bite hard foods on the part side that you don’t have dental bonding. And if you have bonded teeth in both sides of your mouth, then just be extra careful when biting foods and in what you eat everyday. That way you will keep a quality smile for a long time.
