Determining the perfect or ideal weight in a person is usually based on height. On other words, weight must be proportional with how high a person stands. This means that a taller individual must have a bigger weight compared to a smaller or shorter person. This measurement or approximation goes for both genders, male and female. According to the US Department of Health and Services, an average US woman stands only 5 feet and 3.7 inches tall, which is equivalent to (162 centimeters). The average weight is around 152 pounds or 69 kilograms, thus resulting to a Body Mass Index or BMI of 26.3, which is considered under the overweight category. Base on these facts, many women these days would already like to know the ideal or average weight for women by height.

Determining the right or the correct weight based on height is important in order to keep a perfect or suitable figure. A short woman who exceeds in weight may look pudgy and stout, while a tall woman who lacks in weight may also look very skinny and skeleton like. This shows that placing or having the weight within the ideal range can definitely help women in preventing an odd look just like what is mentioned. Below are some of the ideal weight measurements based on a woman’s height.

When a woman stands 4 feet and 10 to 11 inches, she should have a weight in between 100 to 134 pounds. If she stands 5 feet flat to 3 inches, then her lowest normal weight should be 103 and her highest must be 148 pounds. 5 feet and 4 to 6 inches must have a minimum of 114 pounds and a maximum of 160. 5 feet and 7 to 9 inches tall must be within 123 pounds to 170 pounds. 5 feet 10 to 6 feet must have at least 132 pounds and a maximum of 179.

Aside from knowing the appropriate weight for height, women can also base their measurement according to BMI. BMI or Body Mass Index is a measurement that shows or categorizes the weight or height of a person whether it is underweight, normal, overweight, obese type I and obese type II. When a BMI measurement is 20 and below, this is categorized as underweight. If the BMI is from 20.1 to 24.9, then it is considered normal. BMIs that go from 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight while a BMI of 30 to 34.9 is under the obese category type I. Type II obesity is categorized under BMIs 35 and above. With the use of this index, it would be a lot easier for women to adjust their weight in order to target a normal BMI.

These are just some of the facts and important details about the average weight by height of women. Becoming conscious of one’s weight is sometimes essential in order to help push oneself in aiming for the normal and healthy body figure.
