Working Out to Build Muscle Quickly

You’ve seen the variety products being sold with promises of getting you fit as quickly as possible. Many advertisers claim they know how to build muscle effectively, and that they have the answer to all your fitness struggles. But the problem with these products is that they require you to pay to try them, and if they don’t work for you it will usually be tough to get your money back.

But here’s some good news: you can actually begin a healthy, effective regimen for working out to build muscle right away, without buying expensive how-to DVDs, fitness equipment, or even a gym membership. The secret is calisthenics.

Calisthenics are exercises based on your own body weight that work without using special equipment. Effective examples for building muscle include the popular push up, tricep dips, pull-ups, and squats.

Not only are calisthenic work-out techniques great because they don’t require expensive equipment or gym memberships (making them a totally free way to exercise), but they’re great because they are actually quite often more effective than using fitness equipment to gain muscle, particularly for beginners.

This is because most fitness equipment is actually best used at the professional level, for fine-tuning your muscles rather than building them from the ground up. Many specialized exercises done on these machines target specific muscles, whereas calisthenic exercises typically work out larger muscle groups as well as the smaller support muscles.

It’s vital for anyone serious about building muscle that they develop all of these muscle groups instead of just specific muscles, for several reasons: 1) It’s much safer to build up many muscles evenly and will lead to fewer injuries; 2) Each muscle will look bigger if the muscles around it are crowding it for space based on their own girth; 3) Building up single muscles and ignoring groups is far less useful — if you want to actually utilize your strength instead of merely displaying your physique, you’ll need to target many more muscles than most fitness machines do.

They’re free, safe, and effective, so get started with calisthenic exercises today!
